History

Gatewood was platted beginning in the 1920’s and completed in the 1930’s with an exception to Carey Place.  The dominant architectural style is the Tudor Revival, with the Colonial Revival and Prairie School style following close behind. In the more northern part of the neighborhood you will see small bungalows as well.

The Gatewood Neighborhood Association is one of the most active in the state of Oklahoma.  Every year they hold a number of events including a neighborhood-wide garage sale, a Home Tour in the fall season, Easter Egg Hunt, and Christmas Party.  The Neighborhood school, Gatewood holds the 3k Gator run which helps raise funds for the school.
